Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity is sponsoring their International Day of Prayer and Action on Sunday, September 21, 2008. Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry. Habitat works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold, by way of a no interest loan, to those in need. Habitat's mission is to eliminate poverty housing from the earth. Habitat has taken its vision of a world with no more shacks to 53 nations. To date, HFHI has completed over 100,000 simple, decent, affordable houses around the globe.
The Nevada Area Affiliate of Habitat for Humanity is encouraging all Churches in Vernon County to show their support for Habitat’s mission by observing the International Day of Prayer and Action in their local congregation on Sunday, September 21, 2008.The Nevada Area Affiliate currently has their tenth project underway in the 800 block of North Ash Street and would invite anyone that wants to help with the construction to contact any Habitat Volunteer.
